Plan Target 1% reduction per annum in the quantity of household waste generated per capita over the period of the plan Plan Target Reduce to 0% the direct disposal of unprocessed residual municipal waste to landfill (from 2016 onwards) in favour of higher value pretreatment processes and indigenous recovery practices Plan Target Preparing for Reuse and Recycling Rate of 50% of Municipal Waste by 2020 Policy Actions & Targets Prevention Strategy 1% Reduction Per Annum HH Waste Generated per Capita Objective B.- Prioritise waste prevention through behavioural change activities to decouple economic growth and resource use Policy Promote behavioural change and extend waste prevention activities through information campaigns Action Collaborate Regionally on waste prevention activities through information campaigns, targeted training and local capacity building. Target One campaign per year Timeline Q4 each year Indicator No of regional campaigns/year Policy Actions & Targets Resource Efficiency Strategy Preparing for reuse/recycling target of 50% by 2020-Municpal Waste Objective C.- The Region will encourage the transition from a waste management economy to a green circular economy Policy Establish Reuse, repair and preparing for reuse activities and networks to recirculate and extend the lifespan of items Action Engage with and facilitate enterprises in the development of repair and preparing for reuse activities.
