The book , as the introduction's title /why rethink women's and gender studies / entails ,attempts at critically re$thinking or delving deeper into the field of in0uiry trying to find fromwithin answers for many 0uestions through deconstructing its key terms or its founding matri1esin the hope of coming up with new yet not final conclusions . So what are the main ideas that theintroduction promulgate2 The idea behind re$thinking the intrinsic premises that structure WS thought aroused by agroup of academics who were ma3orly involved in the field. Through their teaching e1periences,they have been constantly faced by some unease and disappointment which accordingly led themto turn their interests and effort to ask radical 0uestions , challenge and provoke the notion of vested knowledge within the field, by focusing on its language that all practitioners use to makesavvy and to talk about WS. These scholars4 interest with language or the terms profoundly embedded in it, was not of how these terms were defined ,or the diverse conte1ts in which they can be used. but rather, withe1amining the analytical frameworks of each term that functioned to produce a monolithicversion of WS and silenced other interpretations and standpoints from within the very same  field. )n e1ample is provided in this respective through the term /feminism/ that is looked at as a part and parcel in WS. The editors meditate the centrality of this term and why it has rarely if ever been 0uestioned before. To pursue their critical analysis of the terms that mostly constitute the very foundation of WS , the editors have adopted a genealogical diagnosis to interrogate current conceptions of thefield , investigate the ways in which versions of WS are represented and which versions are pushed aside. 5owever as the editors contend this in0uiry does not aim at seeking truth or tryingto offer /better or more definitive accounts of these terms 6is not our aim7. ur goal is to urge usall to think more genealogically about how and why particular definitions come to predominate /.8rom this 0uote it is evident that this in0uiry resists falling in the same pitfall of singular truthand rather calls for an ongoing research to identify the ways in which WS4s language to foster and at the same time discard different versions in the field. The article renounces 'absolute truth' and seeks to dismiss the idea of one unified version of WS through deconstructing its language. The paper offers a new hope for a moreaccommodating and more inclusive academic sphere that tolerates and accepts the differentcontradictions and parado1es of the various visions about it , and that appropriates all its largeknowledge for its transformatory and revolutionary role .
