  • 2. INDIAN SPORTS  There are a number of popular sports in India but cricket is the most popular.  The country also has won eight Olympic gold medals in field hockey. India has hosted and co-hosted several international sporting events, including the 1951 and 1982 Asian Games, the 1987, 1996 and 2011 Cricket World Cup, the 2003 Afro-Asian Games, the 2010 Hockey World Cup and the 2010 Commonwealth Games.  Major international sporting events annually held in India include the Chennai Open, Mumbai Marathon, Delhi Half Marathon, and the Indian Masters.  The National Games of India is a national domestic sports event, which has been held in the country since 1924.

Steroids and Drug Use :-  Since the 1960s, the use of performance-enhancing drugs has been a problem in college and professional sports of all kinds.  Performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) include anabolic steroids, stimulants, human growth hormone and supplements.  The battle against PEDs has been a long slog.   • 6. Discrimination:-  Discrimination has many faces.  Racism, gender discrimination and homophobia are social justice issues plaguing a wide variety of aspects in our society; the sporting world included.  It seems society still has a lot of growing to do. Ethical Issues
  • 7. Ethical Issues Gambling:-  Illicit and insider gambling isn’t as big of a problem in America as it is elsewhere in the world.  While the problem does persist in the country, the respective gambling scarcity in America may be attributed to how previous scandals have been handled.
  • 8. Ethical Issues  Players and owners have to negotiate mandatory issues relating to hours, wages and working condition.  The agents entrusted to conduct business on player’s behalf should be working as per well laid out norms that serve the best interests of the game.
  • 9. Conclusion  As compared to other sporting nations , India's achievement may be meager but we need to keep in mind the infrastructure and other such conditions which are essential for a big country.  India has always been short of this but as of now, building sports persons.
