Tournament of the Minds On Sunday our two Tournament of the Minds (TOM) teams competed in the regional competition at La Trobe University. The students were amazing as they performed a 10- minute skit in a 3m x 3m square related to a problem they needed to solve. The students were judged on a broad criteria including creativity and organisation. A huge thank you to Sylvia Petrovska who supported our students for the past term and a half as she prepared the students for TOM success Father s Day On Friday from 8am onwards our Parents & Friends will be hosting our Father s Day breakfast in the multi-purpose room. As a way of saying thank you, fathers or a special adult are invited to come along and have a hot chocolate and treat before making their way to their child s classroom at 8:45am to show off their classroom. This is a free event and no tickets are required, simply turn up and enjoy! From 9am we will also be running our Father s Day stall in the library. Athletics Day On Monday all our students and staff hopped on a coach and travelled to Doncaster Athletics track for a day of running, jumping, throwing and chanting. It was enjoyable to see all our students participate in events for their houses. Our athletics day carnival is unique to our school as not many other schools take all their students to participate in such a day. A massive thank you to the super organised Kate Stacker for planning an amazing day, she also brought the beautiful weather! Game Time Just when we thought our week couldn t get any bigger in the sporting department, on Wednesday afternoon we had a visit from some very BIG basketball players from the South East Phoenix NBL team. Our 410 students were treated to a match where some of our older students played against the Phoenix. We were all entertained as the Phoenix players showed off their sublime skills of dribbling, long range shooting and many students were slammed dunked on! The atmosphere was exciting and could not have been possible if it were not for Kate Stacker. Thank you Kate for providing such a special experience for our students.
