This publication is dedicated to Joseph Djikolm-baye and Dénémba Kanatou who were portrayed in this exhibition and sadly passed away in 2011 and 2013 respectively.  Joseph, coordinator of the local radio ‘The farmer’s  voice’ and an expert on the living conditions of the local population of Doba, died aged 41 in a car crash.Kanatou was born HIV positive, a phenomenon linked to international migration that surrounds projects like the Chad–Cameroon Oil & Pipeline Project. At the age of 11 she could no longer stand the harassment and stigma and stopped treatment. Dedication
