Crisp Motorsports Park Watermelon Capital Speedway Race Rules Go Kart Economy Class Rules Page 1 of 5 2017 Kart Economy Rules If it does not specifically state that something is allowed, it is illegal. Check first before you find out you ve been disqualified. This class is designed as a low cost racing venue. If you race in this class, you cannot enter the same kart in any other class. There is no protest but is subject to visual tech inspection of any component or suspected component at any given time by CMP tech officials. This is a ENGINE CLAIM RULE class. A visual protest can be made to the outward appearance of the motor (for example, external start versus stock pull rope start). If you think something is wrong, CLAIM THE MOTOR Claim Rule top 5 can only claim motor on the kart finishing the race in front of you. $150 & Must swap motor. General Rules: Chassis: Any flat kart (LTO) chassis allowed. No champ, road course or yard kart chassis. Clutch: Any clutch #35 chains only. Gearing: Open Tires: Open Fuel: Track supplied race fuel 110 OCTANE or pump gas only. No methanol or additives allowed. Fuel Tank: Stock tank may be used (cap must be taped down to prevent it from coming off on the track). Option is a floor pan mounted fuel tank and pulse-type fuel pump Body: Must have complete standard or swoop LTO body-no STEEL OR ALUMINUM. Weights: Must be painted white, held by one or two 3/8 inch bolts with double nuts, Kart/Driver Weight: Combined kart/driver weight is a minimum of 350 pounds, No fuel burn off weight is determined by track owned scales unless specifically directed by the Track Tech official to use another method. No excuses. Engine Rules: Engines: Predator 212cc STOCK engines (old style, hemi or 730 allowed), Honda 200cc STOCK, or Clone 200cc STOCK. 1. Exhaust: Weenie pipe (no longer than 8in) or stock exhaust only. Sealer may be used in conjunction with gasket to assist seal. Header wrap allowed. Page 2 of 5 2. Internal Engine Components: Must remain stock. THIS MEANS EVERYTHING! 3. Flywheel: ARC Flywheels (part numbers 6625/6626 only) allowed. No other flywheels will be allowed. This is for safety reasons. 4. Carb: Stock predator carb. Factory choke and fuel cutoff switch must work. Any main and low speed jet. Only one carb, intake gasket and black plastic insulator allowed. No epoxy or RTV anywhere on the carb. 5. On/off Switch: CHANGE: MAY MOVE THE SWITCH TO ANOTHER LOCATION, BUT MUST BE FUNCTIONAL. 6. Gaskets/Insulators/Bearings/Seals: All must be stock. Stock single head gasket only. No copper or fire ring gaskets. 7. Oil: Any oil allowed. Must use approved containers when changing oil at the track. Oil spills will be reported to track officials and you are responsible for cleaning the spill. 8. Air Filter: CHANGE: ONLY STOCK AIR FILTER IS ALLOWED. MUST APPEAR EXTERNALLY AS IT COMES OUT OF THE BOX. Must be stock. 9. Appearance: Stock appearing from any distance and any time CMP ONLY: Color of the flywheel/valve cover or gas tank is not governed. You may change the color to suit your own taste! Stickers or decals must not be used to hide any improvements or illegal items. 10. Engine Starting: Must use stock pull starter. 11. Fuel Tank: Stock tank may be used (cap must be taped down to prevent it from coming off on the track). Option is a floor pan mounted fuel tank and pulse-type fuel pump Track Rules: 1. Safety: Drivers will wear as a minimum, gloves, full face helmet, and protective jacket (long sleeve, may be a fire suit, karting or motorcycle type jacket), long pants and race boots or full foot shoes (no sandals or open toe shoes allowed. Neck brace or neck restraint (i. e., Valhalla 360 device) is MANDATORY. 2.NO DRIVER ALLOWED ON THE TRACK WITHOUT ALL SAFETY EOUIPMENT. 3.NO ONE WILL GET OUT OF THEIR KART WHILE ON THE RACING SURFACE FOR ANY REASON. UNLESS YOU ARE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT EJECTS YOU FROM THE KART, YOU ARE NOT TO GET OUT. IF YOU ARE EJECTED AND CAN SAFELY GET TO THE INFIELD, DO SO. ALL OTHER KARTS WILL IMMEDAITELY SLOW DOWN AND AVOID THE AREA. DO NOT STOP AND ATTEMPT TO RENDER AID. THIS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TRACK WORKERS, LET THEM DO THEIR JOB! YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THIS RULE. Page 3 of 5 4. Numbering: All karts MUST have a large number (at least 9 inches high) on the right side upper fender/nose of the kart for scoring. The numbers must be of a contrasting color and bright enough for the tower to score you. If you don t have it displayed and the scoring tower cannot see the number, you may not be scored correctly and it could cost you!! The scoring person is not responsible if they can t see your number! Track score sheet is official. 5. Race Format: Practice laps determined by track. Heat race: to determine feature starting position. Top three finishing karts are REQUIRED TO WEIGH IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FEATURE. Do not go to you pits or by pass tech YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. Engine Claim Rule: The following guide will be used: 1. Top 5 may claim the motor finishing directly ahead in the finishing order. (Meaning last place cannot claim the first place motor). 2. To claim the engine for the kart finishing directly ahead of you, you must pay $ PLUS your engine. 3. Engine Claim: a. You must notify the tech inspector at the scales IMMEDIATELY following the end of the feature of the intended claim. The kart MUST pass tech (weight rule) prior to the engine being removed and claimed. b. Both drivers must agree to the claim. c. Both engines claimed MUST HAVE BEEN RACED IN THE FEATURE. d.: The claim will consist of i. The engine only. ii. The air filter and adapter, exhaust, fly wheel, clutch and heat shield/chain cover are not part of the claim and can be removed. 4. Not honoring the claim for the first time will result in loss of finishing position; forfeiture of all points received that night. If you don t sell the next time you will be suspended 2 races. 5. Not honoring the claim for second or subsequent times will result in removal from the class. 6. A claimed engine is NOT AN INDICATION of cheating or rules violations. Even if you suspect the engine to be illegal and you claim it, the kart that finished in front of you will maintain their finishing position and points. 7. The claimed engine will not be allowed to be torn down at the track for the purpose of determining legality. Legal or not, once you claim an engine, it s yours. The claimer assumes all responsibility. State Law Safety Rule: State law requires a 10 pound fire extinguisher in every pit. IF REMOVED FROM THE CLASS, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ALLOWED TO RACE IN THE CLASS. NO SECOND CHANCES, NO WARNINGS, NO EXCUSES. THESE RULES ARE ONLY IN EFFECT FOR CRISP MOTORSPORTS PARK AND ARE NOT WKA/AKRA LEGAL. NO WKA/AKRA RULES WILL BE USED AS A MEANS TO PROTEST OR DISQUALIFY ANYONE.
