Henry Matisse Craft Gallery WEDNESDAY, March 18 th at 1pm General Membership Meeting MISTY GAMBLE Sculpture artist-in-residence at the Armory Art Center Her work is inspired by the human figure and its infinite capacity for communication. As a child, Misty was immersed in her father s world of puppetry and the performing arts. She has traveled extensively, including Iran. Misty s current work includes life-size figurative sculptures, focusing on issues surrounding femininity, challenging conventional standards of morality, normalcy and propriety. Members, come join us for this wonderful opportunity to see Misty s work and view her slide lecture. You will be amazed!!!!! Attendees: please call the Craft Gallery if you are coming. Betty needs to arrange the room! Board Meeting first at 11:30. Board members bring your lunch. The League welcomes new members: Esther Blitz, Bethany Krull, and Ann Liebowitz. This is an exciting time for the league. Membership has swelled and venues are coming to fruition. Thank you all for your support by work and by deed. 1 UPCOMING LEAGUE EVENTS Clay Energy A Scholarship Fundraiser exhibition at Eaton Fine Art March 6-March 14, ****Members must deliver work to the Eaton Fine Art Wednesday, March 4, :00-12:00. ****The pickup date for all work at Eaton Fine Art is Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 12:30-3:00 p.m. Remember that this gallery is closed on Sunday and Monday This is an elegant and upscale gallery and we look forward to a wonderful turnout. DIRECTIONS AND PARKING AT EATON FINE ART Take I-95 to Exit 70. Go East on Okeechobee. You will pass the Kravis Center and City Place on the north side of Okeechobee. Make left onto South Quadrille Boulevard. Eaton Fine Art is on the corner of Quadrille and Gardenia Street. Members are requested to park all vehicles on the street for this exhibition and not in the gallery parking lot!!! March 23 & 24,2009- Craft Gallery, Nancy Kubale, Clay Sculpture Workshop AWARDS, RECOGNITIONS AND CONGRATULATIONS Robert ben Kline received honorable mention at the Lake Worth Art League exhibition My Perspective for his sculpture Hotel. The Lake Worth Art league is located at 426 Lake Avenue.in Lake Worth. Barbara Tuck has sold another one of her mixed media pieces at the Boca Raton Museum of Art Guild gallery in Delray Beach. Wow- good work, Barbara! Susan Saladino will be exhibiting her work at Rosetta Stone Fine Art. March 5-29, Reception will take place March 5 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Gallery is at 5080 PGA Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens. Lois Levine will be exhibiting hand-built pottery at the James A Rutherford Community Center at Patch Reef Park on Yamato Road in Boca Raton from April 1 st -April 30 th. A reception has been planned for Wednesday April 15 from 4pm to 8pm. Her display includes a variety of masks, figures and vessels and newly created YARD ART suitable for outdoor use in your gardens, in your trees, on your patios and in your entranceways.
